InfoPath in 60 seconds

How would you insure that a unique SharePoint ID is displayed on your InfoPath form first before it is saved to the SharePoint list? This is a requirement I had from a customer. Strange, but never the less a requirement which I met. Post your assumptions or solutions and I will reveal the answer on the night before the next month.
